This data analysis was performed to determine the effectiveness of TalentClick assessments to predict on-the-job success by analyzing additional data. Data analyzed included: detailed attendance data from Emergency 911 Operator incumbents and job analysis data from ‘Job Experts’. The analysis will refine TalentClick and the client’s understanding of how to predict on-the-job success by building on previous insights, predicting attendance scores, and ‘Passing the Training Milestone’.
The top 9 most predictive traits for long-term success in the 911 Operator role were identified. Additional data analyzed led to:
Using the detailed attendance data, Job Analysis Data and the previous training performance data provided by the Emergency 911 organization, TalentClick has built an algorithm that uses a set of ideal assessment score ranges (benchmarks) for Emergency 911 Operators. The top 9 traits observed were:
Business Reasoning (BR) is a cognitive skills assessment that measures advanced language/verbal reasoning, numerical reasoning and problem solving capabilities. Verbal Reasoning is a top predictor of on-the-job success for emergency services 911 operators.
The WVA measures a participant’s alignment with an organization’s corporate values. For emergency services 911 operators these values translate to on the job performance.
The WPP personality assessment identifies “soft skills” in participants. Note: Interestingly, the dimension ‘Empathetic’ which was presumed to be a key dimension, does not emerge as a key factor in the analyses. This seems counter intuitive, but the data clearly supports this finding.
The SQ assesses a participant’s behavioral risk. For emergency services 911 operators, some of these behavioral traits are important to the job.
Findings from the data analyses were used to predict participant outcomes on-the-job and create an ‘Ideal Job Profile’ to help hire and develop better 911 operators the first time. This will lead to more participants making it past training milestones and meeting other performance metrics.
